hahahaha! Just the title makes me laugh!!!
I have to write about something that happened 2 weeks after we had been home with E.
I was doing pretty good because I was not sleep deprived yet. Dietrich had been home from work and his parents had stayed a few days after we got back and his mom totally hooked me up (as our kids would say) by doing all our laundry, helping me unpack, cooking, cleaning, and so much more. Well, they left and we decided to have our great friends over for dinner...the ones that took such awesome care of our kids while we were in ET. So, I'm running around the house getting things ready--you know, tidy up a bit, prep some food, etc-- and as I walked briskly into the family room to pick up some things the thought crossed my mind... "I have to be careful, I have a new baby, my body hasn't fully recovered yet (it's only been 2 weeks you know!), I better not over do it." It was so weird.... it came so unconsciously and so automatically!!! This, of course, was in a split second and then next second my brain quickly said, "No! My body is fine--a little tired, but fine and not recovering from just pushing a baby out! Yipee!" It was hilarious to me! I gave a little leap with a smile on my face and went on tidying up! Even now as I recall it I find it quite funny! Adopting can be the same as pushing one out...in some ways! hahaha
So, Ezana finally turned the "food corner!" YAY!!! For the first month home I had been trying him on baby food...this cereal, that cereal, veggies, fruit, baby crackers and he would have none of it. Then he started showing an interest in what I was eating....hhhmmm. So I tried him on some things and yep! wouldn't you guess it! He wants our food! Silly boy! But he knows what he wants! So, I made cream o' wheat (with a bit o' butter and brown sugar of course!) and he LOVES it! No, I mean he REALLY LOVES it! LOL I can't shovel it in fast enough now! Too funny. And he loves mashed potatoes and carrots and fruit...whatever I'm eating that he can gum and swallow down without gagging on! It's so great! And now in the last 3 days he has actually eaten 3 meals and only 4 bottles (yep! that means not every 3 hours thank you!) and wouldn't you guess it...one night he went 6 hours before the first bottle, the next night 4 hours and then last night 7 hours!!! I AM SO THANKFUL!!!!!! Any one that knows me and what I'm like with little or no sleep knows how things have been around here. hahaha Poor hubby! LOL He's been so good though...having me sleep in the other room some nights to get a little bit of sleep so I feel a bit more sane. It's helped. But it's not just the baby, but the kids got the stomach flu last week so they were tag teaming me all night long (Yes! ALL night long! hahaha) and then I got a cold and we're still trying to homeschool. hhhmmm..... yah! LOL
Well, anyway! Enough rambling for now.
I have to tag on a few pics. We just had our first snow in a few years!!! So fun! We went out for an hour or so and are now inside drying all our stuff so we can go back out! :)
Oh! Happy snow day!
